| | Song Story | This quartet for tubas and euphoniums is called "Pieces of Eight" mainly because I used the octatonic mode for most of the movements.
The composition was inspired by a visit to a composers workshop given by Tubalaté, and many of the sounds available to the instruments that they demonstrated have been incorporated into these movements, including flutter tonguing, multiphonics, various types of mute etc.
